Bed Bug Prevention

Bed Bug Prevention

Bedbugs are stubborn little beasts. They are a growing problem in Austin and across the United States, and experts are unsure of the safest way to go about exterminating these pesky insects. The federal government recently rejected Ohio officials' request to use an industrial pesticide to fight household infestations of bedbugs. Bedbugs can live for up to a year without a meal, but they normally try to feed every five to 10 days. Although they are not known to transmit disease, they are extremely hard to eradicate, depending on the severity of the infestation. Some species of the pesky insects have been shown to have developed a resistance to pesticides.

Bee / Wasp Prevention

Bee / Wasp Prevention

If you live within or around Austin and are experiencing bee or wasp issues, call us today. Wasps are known to become aggressive when provoked, and bees may become agitated if they feel their home is being threatened. Because bee allergies are not uncommon and wasps can be very aggressive, our bee and wasp control experts are highly trained and able to provide you with aid within several hours. If you encounter a wasp nest or bee hive within the area, call us today, and we will take care of the issue within a day.

Termite Prevention

Termite Prevention

Termites feed on wood, and can, therefore, destroy a building in a relatively short amount of time. Because there are so very many of them in a nest, termites can cause constant, consistent damage at all hours of the day and night. The hidden nuances that cause up to $5 billion a year, termites can wreck havoc on your home or business, making the structure completely unstable and making your home or business an unsafe environment. These insects can maintain a single colony up almost 2 million, all constantly working their way through your building's support and structure. Because they work underneath the surface, termites are an issue that is often undetected until too late.

Rodents/Mice Prevention

Rodents/Mice Prevention

We have been a trusted part of Austin and the surrounding areas for a number of decades, and our reliable and efficient pest control will keep us that way for years to come. We handle almost every kind of pest you can think of: rats and other rodents, flies, moths, bees and most other kinds of insects and arachnids. We excel at what we do, giving both residents and business owners alike the peace of mind of knowing that "the problem is taken care of." Our services are additionally attractive when it comes to rodents, as we use both family and pet-friendly methods.

Ant Prevention

Ant Prevention

These ants range from dark brown to yellow, and are characterized by their tendency to find moist or wet wood, and pack damp sawdust against it to further and hasten the rot. These ants infest areas near water, like leaky plumbing areas, but are also found in soil, door frames, wood beams, and crawlspaces.

Mole Prevention

Mole Prevention

While they are often confused with rodents such as mice and rats, moles are actually mammalian insectivores and maintain completely different habits and diets than those for which they are often confused. There are several different kinds of moles, with the most common in North America being the eastern mole. Moles are harmless in nature, and only a nuisance to gardeners, those that practice lawn maintenance and both home and business owners, because of the havoc they can wreck on lawn appearance.

Hobo Spider Prevention

Hobo Spider Prevention

Spiders are some of the absolute most aggressive spiders to encounter and are often confused with other kinds of spiders due to their general appearance. They are brown with no markings at all, and can grow to between 11 to 14 mm length, not including legs. The female spider maintains a larger abdomen than the male.

When a client inquires about a professional pest management service, many times the first question is how much the service will cost. However, no two homes or two pest problems are exactly alike nor are two pest control companies exactly the same.

Inexperienced applications of over-the-counter pest control products are usually ineffective and can also be unsafe for pets, children and adults if used improperly. Also, most pests return unless you take steps to prevent them. In as little as 60 days, new infestations can develop.

By the time you make the decision to look into pest management services, you have most likely tried it by yourself. While store-bought solutions can kill some pests, they are not very effective at providing continuous prevention from re-infestation (you've probably found that most pests are relentless). Typical homeowners lack the time and expertise to handle specific pest situations that are encountered in and around your home or office.

Our first priority is the safety of our customers, as well as being good stewards of the environment. "Caring People — Careful Solutions?" means that we take the time to develop a customized pest control program and use strategic targeting, which enables us to use the least amount of pest control product while providing superior results. All materials are EPA approved and all technicians are trained in the safe handling and application of all materials.

All our job applicants are required to pass a series of interviews and background checks (which include criminal and drug tests) before they are even considered for employment. All technicians go through on-the-job training with a highly experienced trainer for the first month. Within the first 75 days, we send them to a registered technician school offered by the state of North Carolina. All of our employees are friendly, professional and know that our first priority is safety.

Donovan Reese/Getty Images HistoryThe state's fourth largest city, Austin originated as the riverside village of Waterloo, in a buffalo-hunting region occupied by Tonkawa and Comanche peoples. In 1839 it was selected by scouts as the site for the permanent capital of the Republic of Texas and renamed to honour Stephen F. Austin, father of the republic. By 1840 Austin was incorporated, with 856 residents. When Mexican invasion threatened Texas in 1842, the government moved to Houston, but the town's citizens, determined to keep Austin the capital, staged the so-called Archive War, forcibly retaining government records. The government returned to Austin in 1845, the year in which Texas was admitted to the United States. Austin's pink granite State Capitol (1888), modeled after the U.S. Capitol, succeeded an earlier structure (burned 1881). Lithograph of Austin, Texas, c.1840. Library of Congress, Washington, D.C. The city flourished as a trading centre for ranchers and farmers after the arrival of the Houston and Texas Central Railroad and the construction of a permanent bridge across the Colorado River in 1871. A flood in 1900 caused widespread destruction, including the collapse of the bridge. With the harnessing of the river for flood control and power in the early 20th century, industry began to develop. Austin experienced dramatic growth during the 1990s, fueled mainly by high-technology industries. The contemporary cityBusiness, research and development, and manufacturing concerns involving computers, computer equipment, semiconductors, telecommunications, software, and biotechnology are among the city's major employers. Government, education, and health care services are also primary economic factors. Railroads play an important role in trade, with most international cargo traveling to international ports by rail. Austin-Bergstrom International Airport opened in 1999 on the site of a former U.S. Air Force base. The city's population is ethnically diverse; fewer than two-thirds of its people are of European descent. About one-third of the population is Hispanic, and about one-tenth is African American. Austin's educational resources, particularly the University of Texas (1881), which has its main campus there, have contributed to growth. Other educational institutions include Huston-Tillotson College (1875), St. Edward's University (1885), Concordia University at Austin (1926), and AustinCommunityCollege (1972).At dusk portions of the central city are lighted by 'artificial moonlight' from mercury vapour lamps atop 17 165-foot (50-metre) tall towers (erected in 1894). The O. Henry Home and Museum is housed in what was O. Henry's residence from 1893 to 1895, and the Elisabet Ney Museum, situated in her former studio, houses a collection of Ney's sculptures; Ney created many life-size figures, including those of Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston standing in the national and state capitols. The French Legation Museum (1841) was built by French charge d'affaires Alphonse Dubois de Saligny, who was to represent the French government in the Republic of Texas; if he occupied the house at all, it was probably for a very short period. The Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum (1971), situated on the campus of the University of Texas, contains archives, documents, and memorabilia of Johnson's public career. The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum (2001) showcases exhibits on the state's history. The Jack S. Blanton Museum of Art, on the university campus, has a notable collection of Latin American art. Other facilities include the Austin Museum of Art, the Mexic-Arte Museum, and the Umlauf Sculpture Garden & Museum. The city supports an array of cultural organizations including a professional symphony orchestra, an opera company, and a ballet troupe, as well as a variety of art galleries and theatre groups. Ants - General Information

Moisture Ants

These ants range from dark brown to yellow, and are characterized by their tendency to find moist or wet wood, and pack damp sawdust against it to further and hasten the rot. These ants infest areas near water, like leaky plumbing areas, but are also found in soil, door frames, wood beams, and crawlspaces.

Odors House Ants

Also known as coconut or sugar ants, partly due to the smell produced by their anal glands and partly because of their attraction to sugar itself, these ants are black or brown and are anywhere between 2.5 and 3.5mm long. These ants should not be sprayed as a method of removal, as their colonies contain up to 200 queens and can easily split into many nests, making total elimination nearly impossible.

Carpenter Ants

Carpenter ants exist only to break down decaying wood so that it can be decomposed back into ground matter more easily. By hollowing out wood and assisting natural processed, carpenter ants are also provided with a safe place to call home. In an effort to maintain the necessary natural balance, carpenter ants create several colonies within an area, so that they are less likely to be eliminated. If a colony of carpenter ants happens to enter your home, call a professional immediately, to be sure your building does not lose its structure and come crashing down on you.

Dim Eyesight Means Impeccable Scent

Carpenter ants maintain an incredible sense of smell, as they are close to completely blind. Similar in many ways to bees, carpenter ant queens also lay eggs, and worker ants seek resources for the colony like food and water. Scouts also search for possible places to colonize as far as 300 feet in every direction, leaving behind a pheromone trail so that other ants will be able to locate the possible places later. These 'ant trails' are strong enough to bear the elements, including harsh snow and rain.

Jaw Strength to Impress a Shark

The tunnels carpenter ants are known for are created by their incredibly strong jaws. The smooth tunnels they make are designated for their eggs and made through absolutely any kind of wood available to them at the time. Home is wherever the wood may be to carpenter ants.

Used to living in tree stumps and damp bark, carpenter ants will jump at the opportunity to live inside your warm and comfortable walls, never to be rained on again. Carpenter ants are not in any way picky, so watch out for them not only in your walls - but also floors, ceilings, doorways and even the doors themselves.

Though ants can be sneaky and only show themselves on rare occasions, seeing only one ant could mean thousands more are residing right inside your walls. Chewing through your support beams while you chew on your morning toast, carpenter ants are the hidden destruction that happens in the protection of dark walls. Unfortunately for your home, seeing a carpenter ant usually means they are already well established in your home with you.

Our Solution

Because of the very nature of carpenter ants to survive, you will need a professional, all-out attack on the colony, and we are the best resource you could call to help your ambush succeed. Our technicians are the best anti-ant professionals in the entire the area, and our methods will ensure your home is ant free once completed.

Here, we believe that simply destroying the colony inside your home is only a fraction of the job, as pheromone trails still exist all around your house or building, leading right back to it. To help eliminate the risk of more ants coming into the facility, we have designed a comprehensive ant control program, to discourage any re-infestations.

Because we understand the dangers of chemical usage even to discourage ant activity, we use only EPA approved materials with a 30-day lifespan, which protects both your and your pets from any damage while eliminating your ant problem.

We maintain an absolute 100% ant-free guarantee, which is significant considering how much those pheromone trails can withstand. When you call us, you are ensuring your ant problem will be eliminated, and stay that way for good.

We Proudly Serve the State.
